HOW OXYGEN AND FOOD REACHES THE CELLS

Blood carries oxygen and food around the body. But it never comes into with body cells .
TISSUE FLUID-The answer is the capillary walls are so thin that they leak out .The liquid called tissue fluid leaks through them from the blood ,into tiny spaces between the body cells .
Tissue fluid carries oxygen and food from the blood to the cells and washes away thier wastes
Most tissue fluid then seeps back into the blood vessels . But some drains into lymph capillaries, carrying germs and bits of dead cells with it . It becomes lymph.
WHERE DOES THE LYMPH GO ?-The lymph capillaries join to make larger tubes .These tubes drain into lymph glands.
The lymph is cleaned up by white cells called lymphocytes. These eat the germs and dead cells, and also make antibodies.
Clean lymph is returned to the bloodstream through tubes which join a vein in the neck. The lymph glands are found in the abdomen, under arms and in the neck.
